I originally prepared these posts for a different project, but it turns out they won't be being used for it. So instead of letting them go to waste, I thought to share them with you.
As some of you know, I have been spending a little time in Berlin lately. A little while ago I discovered a sweet handmade jewellery shop. So I went back with my camera to snap some shots. Ready for a little tour?
The shop is called Frau Dietel, which translates to Ms. Dietel in English. It is owned by the very lovely Daniela Dietel (of course!), a jewelry and product designer. As an interior consultant, the shop's interior design is what attracted me initially. I was walking home one evening and those massive, quirky, glowing chandeliers lured me right inside. I was happy to discover a stylish and inviting shop full of beautiful and carefully hand crafted jewelry.
I love the cufflinks, don't you? So I must add here that this shop is more than just a place to buy jewelry. At Frau Dietel, you can also take a wedding ring course, where you make your very own bands. How's that for a romantic twist? The workshops are a day long affair and given right there in the shop. Now I'm flirting with the idea of taking this course - even though I'm already married and have a ring! If I had known before, I would have definitely gone the handmade route. It just never crossed my mind. Wouldn't it be ultra special to be able to say proudly, "Yeah, we made our wedding rings ourselves". What do you think? Are you as smitten with this idea as I am?
See you tomorrow for another sweet shop tour!
